15 Ways To Use Coconut Oil + Why I’m Obsessed

1. Energy Boost

Perfect for an afternoon pick-me up or after a hard workout.

  • I like to mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with about 1/2 tablespoon of chia seeds. Spread on sprouted grain bread. Yum!

2. Coffee Flavor

Add coconut oil to your coffee for a sweet healthy creamer.

3. Cooking

Substitute for butter.

4. Healthy Mayo

  • 2/3 cup of coconut oil, 2/3 cup of olive oil, a teaspoon of mustard, tablespoon of lemon juice. 4 egg yolks

5. After Shave

Perfect moisturizer to prevent ingrown hairs.

6. Hair Mask

While you are in the shower- melt coconut oil by running jar under warm water. Then, apply generous amount of oil to wet strands and put hair into tight bun. Chill for 5 mins. Rinse. Lots + Lots of moisture.

7. Natural Highlighter

Contouring with coconut oil? Yup, its a thing. Simply sweep a small amount on top of makeup and leave alone. It makes your skin glow and much brighter. AKA why coconut oil is in EVERY product.

8. Body Oil

Perfect light moisturizer and it smells amazing.

9. Makeup Remover

Ahhh this is my fave. It even works with water proof mascara! Put on a cotton ball and gently sweep it over your eyes. Wash your face when finished.

10. Body Scrub

Soooo easy. Just mix coconut oil with sea salt. I personally, don’t put it on my face. But rubbing it all over my body is amaaaazing.

11. Lip Balm

Chapped lips are my biggest fear. Ugh. Hate them so much. You probably know I’ve been freaking out about the cosmetics industry lately BUT this is a safe and natural lip balm. Put some in a travel size container or contact container to take with you wherever you go!

12. Breath Freshener

Coconut oil has anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. Gargle for about 20 mins with a spoonful (aka oil pulling) can help clean up nasty germs in your mouth. But, don’t get excited and skip out on brushing your teeth. Lol thats still important!

13. Cleaning Makeup Brushes

I’ve always cleaned my brushes a certain way but I was so excited when I found out you can use coconut oil!! Mix antibacterial soap (or the soap I use) to clean brushes with coconut oil and give your brushes a nice bath!

14. Reduces Acne

Test a small amount to see how your skins reacts first.
Coconut oil helps fight bacteria. Coconut will help reduce acne and its all natural.

15. Bath Time

Adding coconut oil to your bath can help moisturize dry itchy skin.

These are great uses I didn’t know of! I use coconut oil as body lotion, and I love it. But apparently it can cause redness on your face. Have a great weekend!
