♡ TBD’s Mouth Watering Pasta Recipe ♡
Ingredients
Barilla Pasta (Penne) Noodles
Johnsonville Italian Sausage (Mild)
16oz Galbani Low Moisture Mozzarella Cheese (for shredding)
Barilla Sauce (Marinara)
1/2 Yellow Onion
Dried Basil to Taste
Black Pepper to Taste
1 tsp Minced Garlic
Olive Oil
Dice the onion and add it to a heated pan (set to medium heat) with a tbsp of olive oil. Cook onions until they become clear. Add sausage to onions in pan and cook/stir. Then, add basil, pepper, and garlic to the sausage. Cook until sausage is brown. Using a lid or strainer, drain the grease and pour in the pasta sauce. Turn heat down to medium-low. While the sauce is simmering, boil the noodles in 4-6 quarts of water. Cook noodles for 10-11 minutes. Strain, put in bowls & add sauce! Shred the fresh mozzarella cheese and sprinkle on top!
I decided to use Barilla noodles and sauce because it is Italy’s #1 brand of pasta! I always use Barilla when looking pasta! Barilla makes dinner super quick, easy and delicious.
P.S. Did you know that pasta along with fruits and veggies are the foundation for the Mediterranean diet- considered one of the healthiest diets in the world! Count me in!
I added Johnsonville Italian Sausage to my pasta because it spices things up and reminds me of a good, cold weather meal! I also like adding a little bit of spice for extra flavor! Not to mention, sausage is packed with protein!
Lastly, I added Galbani Low Moisture Mozzarella Cheese on top! I am a mozzarella LOVER. I add mozzarella to literally everything. There is no good pasta meal without freshly shredded mozzarella cheese sprinkled on top.
