What is mirconeedling?

Microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), basically microneedling is a small device that is covered in small, shallow needles that essentially poke little holes into your skin.

Yes, I said the word needles… no, it doesn’t hurt. The microneedler’s that are designed for at home use are A LOT less scary and do not hurt. The one’s at the dermo tend to be a little bit bigger.

When you poke the little holes into your skin, you are actually causing a “micro-injury”, your brain gets an alert and tells your body to start healing- this allows your skin to start producing collagen.

Think of collagen as like glue for your skin. When we start to age, the glue doesn’t become as strong which leaves us with fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. But, when we boost our collagen we are telling our body to keep it coming and fast.

This bring me back to microneedling…

When those little needles poke holes into the surface of your skin it stimulates collagen production (your skins glue) which allows acne scars to heal, fine lines to be filled, and plumps your skin for an overall youthful and healthy glow.

Now, microneedling is AMAZING for the stimulation of collagen production but it also works wonders for the absorption of skin care products.

How to do it:

♥ Use microneedler all over face at a downward angle (use lips as center point)

♥ Use cold facial towel to close pores

A few things to note:

• NEVER use a microneedler over acne or open wounds. You could spread the bacteria all over your face leaving you with a nasty infection. 
• If you have a pimple, go around the area
• ALWAYS test a small part of your skin first – before microneedling and using a new serum
• NEVER share your roller. Yuck!
• Clean after every use with soap and water
• Throw out and replace every 2-3 months to avoid bacteria

After microneedling:

After microneedling you NEED to moisturize!. Even though you are going to be using a serum, microneedling disrupts your skin’s barrier. I like to use a cold facial towel to close pores and Kniepp’s Almond Blossom Face Cream
