Last week you babes loved my post all about how leopard is trending this fall. So, today I wanted to chat all about how to be trendy on a budget. Trends come and go every season and I wanted to share a few of my favorite trends of the season without breaking the bank.
So, let’s talk about how to be trendy on a budget. Being trendy doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to have the most expensive clothes or even the most popular name brands. I’m going to give you all of my favorite tips on how to be trendy on a budget.
Invest In Wardrobe Staples
Investing in wardrobe staples is much more practical than spending money on expensive trends. You never want to overspend on something that you are only going to wear once. The key is finding good quality clothes with an affordable price tag. My closet is filled with timeless staples that I can wear multiple times, different ways. The key to becoming trendy on a budget is having a few key items that never go out of style like a black dress, denim jacket, leather jacket, crisp white tee and a good pair of jeans. Those items can be worn and styled around any trend.

Must-Have Wardrobe Staples
– Simple Black Dress; A black dress can be worn with just about anything. You dress a black dress up for work or a nice dinner or dress it down for a more casual look. I have a favorite black dress from my boutique, Simple & Feminine, that I wear all the time. I’ve dressed up for a night out with friends and I’ve dressed it down with a hat & sneakers. – Black Denim Skinny Jeans; I can’t tell you how many pairs of black denim skinny jeans I own but I’ve come down to two pairs that I absolutely loooove. Spending a little bit more money on your denim is fine because they are going to last you forever. My favorite pair is from DSTLD. I’m 5’2 with a size 24 waist but my butt and legs fit more like a 25/26 so finding a pair that works for me is really hard. DSTLD is amazing quality denim and definitely worse the price tag.

– Classic White Tee; A classic white tee is a must-have in your closet. I personally don’t spend a lot of money on my white tees because there a ton of great affordable options (see links below). Madewell has great options for classic white tees that come in many different styles. A white tee is great for all seasons and a perfect piece to wear under a leather jacket or denim jacket.

– Leather Jacket; I love a good leather jacket. I have some pricer leather jackets as well as less expensive ones. Depending on the brand, you can definitely tell an expensive leather jacket over a cheaper option. The leather jacket below is one of my favorites that I’ve had for about two years now. A leather jacket is something that you don’t necessarily wear every single day, so it can last you a good amount of time.

– Denim Jacket; Denim jackets never go out of style. I have styles ranging from expensive to less expensive. It depends on the style that you want- I’m loving denim that has tons of distress right now.

– Black Jumpsuit; Jumpsuits are great because you are getting an entire outfit! A black jumpsuit is a great addition to your closet because they are timeless. You can dress up with a heel or dress down with a sneaker. I love wearing mine with a hat and my Adidas.
