10 Alarming Facts About The Cosmetics You Are Using [Important Post!!!]

Today I am sharing some very alarming facts with you. Some of you may know this already but I have a feeling the majority of you don’t.

I am taking a stand and I want you to join me.

Looking good doesn’t have to mean exposing yourself to toxic chemicals.

Take a look at these facts listed below—

1. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. The first step in prevention starts with our everyday products.

2. Phthalates: Found in synthetic fragrances such as perfumes, cosmetics and various personal care items. This ingredient is known to be a hormone mimicking chemical. Many of which disrupt normal hormonal processes, raising concern about their implications for increased breast cancer risk.

3. Triclosan: Found in antibacterial soaps, deodorants and toothpaste. This ingredient is classified as a hormone. This pesticide can affect the body’s hormonal systems and may disrupt breast development.

* FACT: In the U.S. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer 40 years ago, it was 1 in 20. 

4. Only 11% of the estimated 10,000 personal care ingredients used by manufactures have been tested for safety

5. Lead: This potent neurotoxin is found far beyond lipstick!! It may lurk in 650 cosmetic products, including foundation, nail colors, and whitening toothpaste. Lead has also been linked to miscarriage, reduced fertility in men and women, and delays in puberty onset in girls.

6. Over 60% of name brand lipstick contain detectable levels of lead. Snacking or drinking with lipstick on? Yup, you are most likely swallowing lead.

7. Nail polishes contain a cocktail of chemicals collectively linked to all kinds of health issues. Think organ and nervous system damage, hormone disruption, and cancer.

8. Parabens!!! An estimated 75% to 90% of cosmetics contain preservatives called Parabens, which have been liked to breast cancer, reduced fertility, and endocrine disruption.

9. Hair dye ingredients have been linked to non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, leukemia, as well as breast cancer and bladder cancer.

10. The European Union has removed over 1,000 ingredients from cosmetic products. The U.S. has banned 8.

How unbelievable is that. I’ve been doing TONS of research because I want to make sure you ladies are educated. I was completely unaware of the health risks I was taking EVERY day.

After researching, I decided to take a stand. I returned over $300 worth of products to sephora & ulta. If you know me, you probably know I am makeup obsessed. BUT I refuse to spend hundreds of dollars on products that are not completely honest and safe.
