Anxiety.

This isn’t a “omg, feel sorry for my post” BUT I do want to get real for a sec.

I love to talk beauty & style hacks on TBD but the entire point of TBD is to create a space for women on all aspects of our lives. And none of us women are 1000% perfect, we all have our own battles.

Anxiety is something that most of us ladies deal with from time to time (or all the time).

I want to talk about anxiety. Get real about it.

If you don’t know what anxiety feel like, let me break it down for ya…

Remember your first hangover? You probably thought you needed to dial 911 because you were on the verge of keeling over and dying? Yaaa, that’s what anxiety feels like to the T.

I don’t really remember the first time I felt “anxious” but I’m sure it sucked. I’ve had anxiety for as long as I can remember.

Sometimes my anxiety is so terrible that I feel like I physically and mentally cannot get myself out of bed. So, over the past couple of years I’ve realllly tried to channel my anxious personality towards positive outlets.

Like?

Anything productive: writing, yoga class, spin class, going on a walk, running in the park, hiking, washing car, making returns, cleaning, lunch w/ friends or BF, baking, preparing dinner, putting on makeup & going out, etc.

Getting my ass up is the first step to feeling less anxious. As much as I want my bed to hide from the world, it makes matters 10000x worse.

Also- side note: Drinking makes my anxiety through the roof- which is why you will probably rarely see me out. A night of drinking is like signing a panic attack waiver. No joke.

I’ve tried the whole anxiety medication thing and hated every second of it. So lots of sleep, herbs, healthy eating and tons of exercise have turned into my ‘pill’ of choice.

So basically.. the point of this post is to let you know that you are not alone. Do you have anxiety? How do you deal?

    Life is very stressful nowadays and anxiety takes a big part in it. I try to find more time to so the things I enjoy and time to spend with friends and family!
