5 Amazing Ways To Deal With Anxiety

Anxiety is like the worst hangover plus food poisoning x ten. Ugh, I literally have anxiety while writing this. Is anyone else like me? I always have a million and 5 things on my mind. Honestly, if anxiety was a hobby I’d be a champ.

Here are a few amazing ways I deal with anxiety.

1. Write it down

Write that shit down. When something is bothering the hell out of me, I write it down. Trust me, it works. Remember when we were young we would have diaries? It’s similar to that but less cute. When you are worrying about something its so important to release all of that tension and energy. Whether it be talking to yourself in your car, writing in a journal, or confronting the situation- get rid of it. Do not keep things bottled up inside because they will eat the living shit out of you and then you will most likely go cray cray.

Honestly, sometimes when my boyfriend and I are in a stupid little fit, we will write each other letters. It makes us both feel better to get our feelings out. Plus, sometimes if somethings bothering you, its easier to let it out by writing it down rather than talking. When we are upset, nothing comes out right anyway. So, we write each other little notes and then we both read them and talk about it. Besides, writing letters is romantic.

2, Talk to someone

Similar to writing in a journal, this is about identifying and working through your feelings, by unloading them. Find a loved one; a friend or a therapist, especially if your anxiety is an on-going battle. Getting emotional support and communicating with someone you trust can help to alleviate the stress and anxiety which can build up when we overthink or keep it bottled in.

3. Get off social media

Social Media depicts the positive aspects of our friends’ lives more than the negative ones. Sometimes social media can make us go crazy because we are constantly comparing ourselves to others. Also, social media can make us feel like we always have to look or act a certain way. Turn off your phone and relax.Β

4. Take time out for fun

Have fun! I love spinning. It’s so much fun for me and I really look forward to it.

Take the time to make fun and exciting plans (positive ones).

5. Bitesize your day/week

I don’t know about you but I get very overwhelmed when I think about all of the things that I need to get done. A good strategy is to write everything down and then knock out everything in small pieces. Tell yourself what you need to get done each day and accomplish it.

Deep breaths! You are always in control.

xx
